Significance vs. Magnificence

Daily we struggle to make ourselves significant in a world that is constantly pointing us in the other direction. It may be that we are insignificant but nonetheless magnificent.

Significance requires acknowledgment, a relative comparison, and external recognition. Magnificence does not. If we strive to be significant, we put our self-worth at the mercy of a world that may or may not find us relevant. However, if we strive to be magnificent, we turn inward, choosing to be the greatest we can be. This IS within our control. So perhaps, this is the real opportunity – to search and present our own brilliance – brought to life in the way we walk, talk, and live our lives daily. Significance versus Magnificence, one creates compulsion and one creates acceptance. Can you tell which? Which do you choose?
